Pravda asks if the 'insolent, stupid, arrogant' Biden thinks he is "Batman or something?"
President Biden said that Putin had to go. And Russian state media lost its mind. Leading the charge in bringing the Kremlin’s spin to an English-speaking audience is Pravda.ru. This online entity broke away from the venerable Soviet Communist Party’s newspaper ‘Pravda’ — Russian for 'truth'. Orwell would have been proud. Pravda.ru is close to the Russian authorities. Among other languages, it is published in English — which gives Americans an insight into Russia’s love of two techniques of the propagandist, lying and ‘whataboutism’.
So what did they have to say about Biden and America? An article entitled ‘Regime Change in Washington' covers it quite well.
The author, Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey, paints the US as addicted to military adventurism. In a section called ‘The Intervention of the United States in Wars’, he enumerates every conflict involving the US. Even those in which the US had an insignificant role. It is an odd list that is both mind-numbingly long (48 items) — and yet incomplete. It includes Cuba (1961) — the ‘Bay of Pigs debacle. But it does not mention the 1962 Soviet/Cuban missile crisis.
He puts a cherry on its revelation of America’s rapine history by concluding,
“This, apart from behind-the-scenes skulduggery provoking rebellions, regime changes, acts of sabotage, terrorism, and murder, cavorting with terrorists (in Afghanistan in the 1970’s for instance). Mention CIA and everyone in the four corners of the Earth knows we are dealing with the Devil.”
Notably, Hinchey does not mention who those Afghanistan terrorists — the ones America was cavorting with — were fighting in the 1970s.
The next section, ‘The Involvement of Biden in the USA’s conflicts’, addresses Joe “I am a Catholic” Biden and his role in ‘murders’ in Yugoslavia, Iraq, Lybia, and Syria. I wonder what the ‘Catholic’ part has to do with it? To keep short, I will only offer the reader Pravda.ru’s take on the Iraq War
“Biden voted to give authorisation for the illegal attack against Iraq in 2003, in which military hardware was used against civilian structures and over a million people were murdered. Little boys had their limbs blasted off by cowards in the sky imposing Freedom and Democracy from 30 thousand feet, families were blitzed in the Shock and Awe campaign KABOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!! Remember? Back then the world was appalled but hardly anyone in the USA took a position against this act of barbarism. Imagine Russia did that in Ukraine, instead of avoiding civilian centres?”
Just little boys? Were little girls spared or not worth mentioning? And were “over a million … people murdered?” Numbers are sketchy, but most estimates are in the 100,000 to 200,000 range. And those numbers include the dead from sectarian violence, at the hands of the Iraq military, and excess deaths caused by the collapse of the medical system and other social infrastructure. But the big lie is Russia is “avoiding civilian centres” in Ukraine. They know there are videos — no?
Next, the excited author made some personal observations about Biden,
“He is a silly little man, well he is, isn’t he? Look at the way he trots onto a stage like some kind of demented little simpleton. Like what the Hell does he think he’s doing? Has anyone else ever seen any President anywhere behaving like that? Biden is fidgeting all the time like a snotty-nosed brat. He looks like someone with issues. He looks silly and he is silly. One has more respect for what comes out of one’s dog’s backside than whatever he says.”
He’s not done,
“With Biden, it’s all hatred, insolence, stupidity, arrogance, interfering. Who the Hell does he think he is, Batman or something? … he sticks his stinking nose in where it is unwanted. Biden is plain rude, a foul-mouthed guttersnipe, fit for the gutter … he creates chaos.”
And he blamed Biden for the Russians invading a sovereign nation.
Biden? What he should have done was to keep his personal business out of politics, and instead of creating the conditions for Russia to swing into action, he should have diffused the situation. He should have listened. He should have had a meeting, a Summit, with Vladimir Putin.
I wonder why the author did not mention Hunter by name. Perhaps he knows that the audience only needs a dog whistle. Can you imagine if the key to stopping wars was meeting with megalomaniac tyrants? ‘Have a summit, avoid a war’ is a strategy every American President would have embraced. Except it does not seem to work.
There are more lies, along with a churlish refusal to use the correct name for the capital,
He should have told Kiev that having Fascists wearing neo-Nazi insignia in the official armed forces of the country is an insult to Russia after what happened in the second world war. He should have told Kiev to stop shelling its own citizens years ago. While Russia was pressing for a diplomatic solution, he was blocking it.
And finally, he gets to the end of his rant,
“Either he is senile and unfit for office or else he knows what he is doing, which makes it even worse. So one way or the other, time for regime change in Washington. Biden cannot continue as President of the United States of America.”
Here the author unintendedly highlighted a feature of American politics he had not intended to. In the US, the people decide who can continue as their President. Not so in Russia.
Caveat: will that still be the case in 2024? Or will Putin’s orange poodle - along with his GOP enablers - end America’s 235-year run as a representative democracy?
Note the author, an Australian Timothy Bancroft-Hinchey, has long been known for his weak grasp of reality and mercenary stupidity. Click here for details.
