Lara Logan needs an intervention. I say that with sadness as she was once an intrepid and well-respected war correspondent. I do not know the cause of her decline. Although in 2011, she suffered a brutal sexual assault by a crazed mob of Egyptians celebrating the resignation of Hosni Mubarak in Tahrir Square, Cairo. For 25 minutes, her life was in the hands of a mindless mass. And her injuries hospitalized her for four days. It is understandable if the event scarred her mentally as well as physically. But perhaps she had started on her downward path before.
But regardless of how she got to where she is today, here she is — a QAnon believer with a full-blown set of delusions, painful to listen to. She offered her most recent craziness on a QAnon loving show, “And we know” during which she feverishly told the host,
"Does anyone know when, who employed Darwin? Where Darwinism comes from? Well, I mean, you know, look it up. The Rothschilds."
Right-wing zealots are always telling people to “look it up”. Why? If you want me to buy your theories, provide the links. It is not my responsibility to make your argument for you. The truth is that there are no links except those to the hysterical, ill-researched, evidence-free claims that ricochet around the vacuous echo chamber of the right-wing’s fear-mongering.
But I will play along.
Why would the Rothschilds pay for Darwinism? How does a belief in evolution line the pockets of the Jewish bankers and finance their New World Order? How does a covid vaccine-delivered chip advance the Gates/Soros plot for world domination? What is the mechanism? But that is the lunatic fringe for you — not much thought given to ‘how’.
But Logan had more. She roped in the British Prime Minister and the origin of the universe,
It goes back to Ten Downing Street. The same people who employed Darwin. And that’s when Darwin wrote his theory of evolution — and so on, and so on. I’m not saying that none of that is true. I’m just saying that Darwin was hired by someone to come up with the theory. OK. Based on the evidence, OK fine. But even the people, the scientists, all of the people who can take you back to the Big Bang, what is the one question they can never, ever, ever answer? They can never tell you what that was. Whether it is the molecules or the energy, or, you know, all that stuff.
Let’s note that the Theory of Evolution talks about the spread of biological diversification on Earth that began with rudimentary life about 4 billion years ago. A process that started some 12.8 billion years after the Big Bang. As for scientists not knowing what something is, they would be the first to tell you. No reputable scientist has ever claimed insight into what happened before the Big Bang. It is only the religious who are confident they have the right answer when there is no evidence for their position.
As for Darwin ‘being hired’. Why has no one mentioned that before? Darwin came from a prosperous upper-middle-class English family. He was one of many Victorian gentleman scientists who pursued their interests free of financial care. Since boyhood, he was a naturalist, whose raw data for the theory he published in 1859 was collected from South America over five years starting when he was 22, in 1831. Did the Rothschilds have the scouts to identify this precocious talent? Or was it later, when this famously closed-mouth man sat on his theory for decades before publishing?
But Logan did not stop to explain the details of this nefarious ‘science for hire’. She had to connect the ancient with the current, and tie all the loose ends together — while getting in some jabs at a vile person she does not name. She did not disappoint. She brought her narrative to a close with an all-out gallop that will impress the listener with its passion — if not its coherence.
“All these scientists, you know, like that evil, horrible person who is the science adviser to Klaus Schwab at the World Economic Foundation who says there is no such thing as freedom. There’s randomness, but that’s not freedom, blah, blah, blah. The same people who employed Darwin. And that’s when Darwin wrote his theory of evolution. There was this and there was that. You can explain it away, anyway you like. But how did those things come into being? It was that combination of … it’s that question of what came first the chicken or the egg? Right? They can’t answer that scientifically. You just can’t, because something made that into being. Whatever it was.”
The most brutal part of the exercise was the sniggering from the show’s host, who was well aware he was listening to the ravings of a lunatic — but knew there was gold in the insanity. Logan’s family must get her the help she needs. I am not a professional. I cannot make a diagnosis. But even the layperson can see something is wrong. Her mouth cannot keep up with a mind which is racing from one subject to another. Subjects connected in the darkness of her decline in a manner that is only clear to her. Her sentences either run on or end too soon. Her eyes dart, she is breathless, and she talks too fast. It is not good.
Pitt Griffin: I just found your site here from a search for Ms. Logan's Lunacy and I have to say you are a brilliant writer! As a writer and editor myself, I applaud the way you put words together and your excellent descriptions. Kudos! I am also impressed with the depth of your knowledge about Mr. Darwin, one of my favorite scientists. I am so tired of hearing from the robots all about how he said humans descended from apes (he didn't say that) and commenting with great authority about him and his theory in very negative ways, when it is clear to me they never read the Origin of Species in the first place. Also, my husband thoroughly enjoyed your takedown of Lara Logan and he is a biologist of numerous decades. I worked as a therapist for many years and had to make diagnoses of my clients but I couldn't tell you what my diagnosis of Lara is other than anxiety disorder. I'd have to know more about her to diagnose her. I do agree with you, she doesn't seem very stable and she's all over the map when talking - so much so that she isn't cohesive on her topics. I did not like her from the get go, something is not right there. Mind control? Who knows but it's the same tired script all these anti-Darwinists use. Thank you for your enjoyable article! I have subbed to your blog.
